Five held for cricket betting

Five persons were arrested today for allegedly placing bets on a T20 match played between two teams in cash-rich Australian tournament, police said.
Kuldeep Singh and S Chandra Shekar, suspected to be organisers of cricket betting, were caught by the sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force, (West Zone) Team, when they were allegedly accepting bets from punters over cell phones during a match between Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers at Sultan Bazar police station area.
Police also caught their workers, identified as Yashpal Sharma, T Anil Singh and R Ajay Kumar, and seized a television set, 16 mobile pones and cash worth Rs 19,100, an official release stated.
The accused persons along with seized property were handed over to Sultan Bazar police station for further action.
