Police in Henan Province have issued a warrant for the arrest of Ding Jinhua, 38, who they believe is behind this latest stabbing incident yesterday.
Ding, who runs a furniture shop in Luohe City, allegedly stabbed three people to death in Dazhuzhuang Village and later drove back to the furniture market where he killed a businesswoman, state-run news agency Xinhua reported.
The alleged attacker then stabbed a taxi driver to death outside the market before driving away in the vehicle.
After that Ding hijacked a second taxi, injuring the driver with a knife, it added.
Coming not long after two knife attacks in Beijing in which an American woman was killed besides attacks on children by mentally challenged men in the past, the government is worried that the attacks were assuming copycat pattern due to high publicity, the report said.
