The Cairo Criminal Court issued the verdict today in the case against Ahmed Qaddaf al-Dam. The charges stem from an exchange of gunfire with Egyptian security forces outside al-Dam's Cairo home in March 2012.
Egyptian authorities were acting on an Interpol alert issued at Libya's request for al-Dam's arrest.
Al-Dam is wanted in Libya for alleged corruption and his role in the 2011 Libyan civil war that ended with Gadhafi's capture and killing. It's not clear whether Egypt will extradite him.
