The accused are identified as Sesham Krishna, a Group D employee in South Central Railway, K Maruti Mahesh, Chief Office Superintendent and T Rajendra Kumar, an Office Superintendent, besides a businessman Kalyan Kumar Gupta, a Centre Crime Station (CCS) officer said.
The accused cheated the victims by making them believe that they know higher officials in SCR, he said.
The victims were promised jobs of TTE, Loco Pilot, Signal Operator, Booking Clerk, Goods Guard etc, the officer said.
To give the impression that they have become railway employees, Krishna started depositing Rs 10,000-Rs 15,000 towards 'salaries' in the bank accounts of the victims, according to the officer.
He said a complaint was registered with CCS--a wing of Hyderabad Police--against Krishna and others after which police booked the accused for cheating and criminal breach of trust under relevant sections of IPC.
