Freight rates fall on excessive position of trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section to select destinations eased by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today due to easy availability of trucks in the markets against restricted cargo movements.
Transporters said comfortable position of trucks along with tight cargo movements pulled down some centres' freight rates.
Delhi to Goa, Mysore and Vijaywada freights moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 53,000, Rs 66,000 and Rs 60,000, respectively.
Rates to Chennai, Hyderabad and Coimbatore also dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 64,000, Rs 58,000 and Rs 69,000, respectively.
