Freight rates up on tight trucks position, busy cargo

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section spurted by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following tight position of trucks in the market against increased cargo movements.
Transporters said shortage of trucks against pick up in cargo movements, mainly led to rise freight rates.
Delhi to Kanpur, Indore and Patna freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 24,500, Rs 25,000 and Rs 28,000.
Rates to Surat, Mumbai, Pune and Baroda also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 29,000, Rs 32,000, Rs 33,000 and Rs 26,500.
