Amrita, daughter of a celebrated film journalist in Bengal, told PTI her forthcoming flick 'Janla Diye Bou Palalo' (The wife's escapade through the window) is a modern day tale based on an urban couple's life and a romantic comedy.
"The name reminds of a 60s' and 70s' Bengali family drama and the title actually is derived from a proverb 'Jamaibabu Kamlalebu. Janla Diye Bou Palalo'. The kind of proverb you associate with the 19th century rural Bengal, replete with its humour and customs - et al," she said.
Pointing out she enjoyed being herself as a bubbly girl, nay a runaway bride, in the movie, Amrita recalls how she enjoyed the prolonged adda sessions with a veteran like Buddhadev Dasgupta in between shots of Anwar.
"I played the inspiration of Nawazuddin's sleuth character in the film as his bookworm friend, a non-breezy role with dollops of seriousness," she recalls about 'Anwar' shooting of which had been done before the Aniket Chattopadhyay film (Janla Diye...)."
