GE Power India posts Rs 8.76 cr loss in June quarter

GE Power India on Tuesday posted a Rs 8.76 crore loss in June quarter mainly due to higher expenses and subdued revenues compared to year-ago period.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 2.37 crore in the quarter ended June, 2018, a BSE filing said.

Total income of the company in April-June period was at Rs 467.04 crore down from Rs 467.25 crore a year ago. The total expenses rose to Rs 479.34 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 451.57 crore in the same period a year ago.

The company's business activity falls within a single operating segment -- Power Generation equipments and related services.

Shareholders of GE Power on Tuesday approved a dividend of Rs 6 per share.
