The complaint was filed with the commission by social activist Aires Rodrigues, who had alleged that there was no provision for toilet and drinking water for policemen on duty.
"The GHRC issued notices to the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP) on the issue today," Rodrigues told PTI.
The activist alleged there was no provision for a toilet and even drinking water in the guard room recently constructed at the entrance of the Secretariat at Porvorim. The room accommodates a battalion of 16 police staff, including two women police posted on security duty round the clock to guard the Secretariat complex.
