The girl, a student of Class XI, was raped and murdered by her relatives after which her body was dumped yesterday in a farm in Tidua Yakubpur in Kanpur Dehat district, her family has alleged in a police complaint.
The family has named Usman, Irfan, Askari, Salim and Govind in its complaint, police said.
Three persons have been arrested in this case, they said.
However, police said that it appeared to be a case of property dispute and only the post-mortem report would ascertain if the girl was gangraped before being killed.
Among the persons named by the girl's family are her cousin and another relative, they said.
"The girl has been murdered. We are waiting for the post-mortem report as it will make things clearer," SP Kanpur, Rural, Rakesh Pradhan said.
