Girl student killed, 50 others injured as bus falls in river

One girl student was killed and over 50 other students and staff members were critically injured when a private bus fell in the Ghaggar river on Patiala-Kaithal road, about 30km from here, this evening.
On getting information, administrative officials, police personnel and residents of neighbouring villages rushed to the spot and started rescue operations. They pulled out those trapped inside the bus.
Of those injured, nine were sent to Patiala hospital, 20 were being treated at Mahabir Dal Hospital in Cheeka and 30 were admitted to a government hospital in Guhla.
