Additional District and Sessions Judge Shalini Nagpal awarded the sentence to Rajbir Singh alias Kala of Bighar village.
Singh tried to rape his daughter while she was taking a bath in the house on February 21. According to prosecution, when the girl raised an alarm the accused attacked and injured her. He fled from the scene after the attack.
A case under POCSO Act and under the provisions of the IPC was registered against the accused on February 22, on the complaint of his daughter who is a student of Class VIII and aged 14.
