Girls outshine boys in class X exams in J-K

The girls have once again outshone boys in the class X examination results of which were declared today by Jammu and Kashmir state board of school education (JKSBOSE), with the pass out percentage of girls being 62.99 as compared to 61.08 for boys.
A total of 50,615 students had appeared in the secondary school (class X) examinations held in March this year out of whom 27,446 were boys and 23,169 girls. Overall 61.95 per cent students cleared the examination.
"The girls first outshone the boys in class XII results and now in class X they have left the boys behind. The pass percentage of girls stand at 62.99 whereas 61.08 per cent of the boys who appeared in the exam passed," an official of the JKBOSE said.

Shweta Rana of Carmel Convent High School, Kunjwani, Tanmay Mahajan of St Mary's Convent School, Challan, Ramkot, Rupambir Singh of Christ High School, Poonch and Ankush Singh of Vijay Higher Secondary School, Udhampurshared the first position, securing 98.8 per cent marks (494/500).
The second position was shared by 11 students who scored 98.6 per cent marks.
Rasmeet Kaur, Garima Bandhan, Vidushi Gupta, Akanshi Gupta, Mahin Sagotra, Manik Verma, Shivani Saini, Kritika Sharma, Samiksha Sharma, Ishneet Kaur, Karmanya Gupta, shared the second position.

The third position was shared by 25 students who scored 98.4 per cent marks.
The 25 students are Anmoldeep Kaur, Shalini Rasgotra, Shubanghi Suri, Shriya Sharma, Mehak Sharma, Asif Ur Rehman, Akash Katoch, Sahil Choudhary, Lovish Malpotra, Anshika Aggarwal, Kajal Sharma, Tamana Sharma, Vanshika Sharma, Vaishali Sharma, Anjali Sharma, Vivek Sumberia, Pranav Khajuria, Pankaj Upadhaya, Mantej Singh, Iqra Dar, Prableek Kaur, Mahwash Nawaz, Divya Jyoti Sharma, Sudanshu Gujral and Aditya Anand.

The first 20 positions have been shared by 536 students, of whom six are from the government run schools and rest are from private schools.
