Goa: List of reserved wards issued for Municipal Council polls

Goa government today issued the list of wards reserved under different categories for the Municipal Council elections scheduled next month.
Director of Municipal Administration Elvis Gomes in a notification issued today has reserved wards for women, Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste in the 11 municipal councils.
Thirteen wards in Margao and Mormugao municipal councils, which have the highest number of 25 wards, will be reserved, while in B grade municipality like Mapusa, with 20 wards, 10 wards have been kept under reserved category.
Curchorem Cacora municipal council, consisting 15 wards, has seven reserved under different categories.
Smaller municipal councils like Quepem, Cuncolim, Canacona, Bicholim, Valpoi and Sanguem also have some of its wards reserved.
The elections will take place on October 25.
