Addressing a public meeting at Anini yesterday on the first day of his two-day visit to Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley districts, he said people of Arunachal should feel proud as they are the sentinel of the country, a Raj Bhawan communique said here today.
"Be rooted to your land, culture and traditions to preserve the age-old heritage of your tribe.Government will ensure that development reach to their doorsteps.If they are strong, whole of Arunachal Pradesh and the country is secured," he said.
Citing 'Mishmi Teeta', a medicinal herb, the governor said that the district due to its climatic and topography has huge scope for cultivation of medicinal plant.
Highlighting on education, he said that special attention has to be given in this sector.
He urged upon the people to work together for wellbeing of the next generation and create favourable upbringing.
Exhorting the people not to depend solely on the government, the governor urged the people to help themselves in finding ways and means to address their challenges and problems.
Underscoring the importance of roads and other infrastructures for progress of the district and its people, he called for implementation of all projects as per specification and within time limit, the communique added.
