Beneficiaries under Arunachal insurance scheme

A total of 1,63,739 households have been enrolled under Arunachal Pradesh Chief Ministers Universal Health Insurance Scheme (APCMUHIS) and 94 beneficiary patients were admitted in the hospitals in Arunachal and outside the state and have received free treatment so far, said Dr K Nishing, Executive director, APCMUHIS.
Addressing a meeting of the state empowered committee of APCMUHIS yesterday to assess the progress of implementation of the scheme, Dr Nishing said 1000 APCMUHIS manuals consisting of full information and guidelines and list of empanelled hospitals were published and distributed to all the Deputy Commissioners, district medical authorities and to public leaders, an official communique said here today.
The meeting chaired by Tajom Taloh, Commissioner to chief minister expressed satisfaction over the smart card enrollment progress.
Health Secretary Indra Mallo highlighted the various issues about the progress of the scheme.
She also held a review meeting along with New India Assurance Company (health insurance company), Dedicated Health Care Services (TPA) officials, and chalked out the mop-up schedule for enrolment of left out beneficiaries.
She stressed the insurer to complete the mop-up within December 2014.
She also asked the insurers to settle the insurance claims timely and to submit the weekly monitoring reports, summary reports to the department.
She asked the insurance company to have internal review meetings every month and to ensure insurance staff personnel at helpdesk at every district hospital for providing help to the patients for enrolment as well as to get admission in to hospital, the release added.
