Govt starts distribution of LED bulbs in Uttarakhand, J'khand

Government has started distribution of LED bulbs in Uttarakhand and Jharkhand under the Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme(DELP), Power Minister Piyush Goyal today said.
"LED bulbs distribution under the Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme (DELP) has started in Uttarakhand and Jharkhand this week," Goyal tweeted.
"We remain committed to expanding LED programmes to all states. Your requests are shared with State government and help us move faster. Keep writing," he added.
The scheme has been launched in Rajasthan, Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, among others and is rapidly expanding across all other states.
In his tweet, Goyal congratulated Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for distribution of over 50 lakh LED bulbs in the state.
He tweeted,"Under the leadership of the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra is progressing rapidly on all fronts, including power."
According to DELP website government has already distributed 3.45 crore LED bulbs under the scheme.
In a separate tweet about Power Ministry's effort on restoring power in rain ravaged Tamil Nadu, Goyal tweeted, "Out of affected 7,230 KV substations in Chennai, 6 restored. Maanali station fully water logged with boat approach."
The minister said,"We have also setup a 20 MBPS line between load dispatch centres of Chennai and Madurai, to help improve communication.
"Seven Emergency Restoration Towers for Bengaluru-Sriperumbudur line have reached sites, as per Tamil Nadu's requirements," he tweeted.
