Ghaleb Nassar al-Bihani is the fourth Guantanamo prisoner to appear before the Periodic Review Board. The board is reviewing the status of nearly half of the 152 prisoners still held.
The government says al-Bihani underwent terrorist training in Afghanistan and has a history of disciplinary infractions at the US base in Cuba. His lawyer says he was just a cook's assistant and poses no threat to the US
Attorney Pardiss Kebriaei also told the panel today that his client is seriously ill with diabetes. She says he would welcome resettlement to countries such as Qatar, Spain, Costa Rica or Uruguay or return to his native Yemen.
