Marketmen said building up of positions at prevailing levels amid a firming trend at the spot market on surge in demand from guargum makers influenced guarseed prices in futures trade here.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guarseed for delivery in the current month spurted by Rs 50, or 1.35 per cent, to Rs 3,755 per quintal, with an open interest of 100 lots.
Guarseed for most-active delivery in April also advanced by Rs 7, or 0.18 per cent, at Rs 3,857 per quintal, having an open interest of 85,390 lots.
