He said that the policy would focus on developing eco-tourism destinations in Gujarat, besides promotion of wildlife tourism. The policy will replace the existing policy which was announced in 2009, he said.
"The new tourism policy will be announced within a month and we are working on it right now. Through the policy, we will try to develop tourist destinations. We want to boost eco-tourism as well as wildlife tourism through this policy," Patel said.
"There are many destinations across the state which are close to nature and can be developed as tourist spots. Thus, we are working with the forest department to list all such destinations which can be covered under this policy," Patel said.
