Prices of gur Pedi firmed up by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market here today largely due to shortage of stocks.
Muzaffarnagar market also witnessed a rise of Rs 50 per quintal in gur Khurpa prices on paucity of stocks. Elsewhere, other gur commodities remained steady in the absence of any worthwhile activity.
Marketmen said tight supplies from manufacturing areas amid speculative buying pushed up gur Pedi prices in Delhi and Khurpa prices in Muzaffarnagar.
In Delhi, gur Pedi prices were higher by Rs 50 to end the day at Rs 3,050-3,150 per quintal.
Similarly, in Muzaffarnagar, gur Khurpa prices went up by Rs 50 to finish at Rs 2,500-2,550 per quintal.
