A class 12 student died and his brother sustained injuries after their scooter was hit by a car in Tanda on Jalandhar-Pathankot road here today, police said.
Six occupants of the car were also injured in the accident, they.
The incident occurred this morning when Manpreet Singh and his younger brother Gurkirat Singh, a student of Class 9, were going to school on a scooter, they said.
A car hit them at Jalandhar-Pathankot road. Manpreet died on the spot while Gurkirat received injuries, they added.
The six people travelling in the car were family members. Shubham Aggarwal, his mother, Suman, wife, Shine, brother Danish, sister Anshu and niece Avani, were admitted to the civil hospital from where they were referred to a Jalandhar hospital, the police said.
