The monsoon session of the Haryana Assembly begins here tomorrow as the Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP Government would try to get the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill passed in the session which is likely to be brief.
Apart from the GST Bill, Haryana Legislative Assembly Facilities to members Amendment Bill, Salaray Allowance and Pension of members amendment Bill, Court Fees amendment bill, Haryana Private University Amendment Bill, Haryana Sports Council Bill, 2016 and Vishwa Karma Skill University Bill are likely to be introduced in the assembly, official sources said.
The assembly session will begin here in the afternoon tomorrow. However, the official schedule of business is yet to be announced.
The assembly session which was to begin on August 19 had been deferred by a week after Khattar announced that many legislators had requested that they wanted to see the state's athletes take part in the Rio Olympics.
Among others, Haryana Sports Minister Anil Vij and senior INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala, who is Leader of Opposition, had travelled to Rio.
Ruling BJP is expected to bring in a resolution praising the feat of Sakshi Malik, who belongs to Haryana and won an Olympic bronze in a wrestling event at Rio.
Opposition Congress and INLD are gearing up to target the Khattar government on a host of issues including crop insurance, law and order situation, employees and power issues.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the party MLAs here, Congress Legislature Party leader Kiran Choudhary and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda hit out at the Khattar government over its alleged failure on various fronts.
Choudhary alleged that Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana was being thrust on farmers and money was being deducted from their Kisan credit cards even when they were unwilling to take up the scheme.
"We will bring an adjournment motion on this," she said.
Hooda also hit out at the state government over alleged
deteriorating law and order situation, citing latest incident which took place in Mewat district where a couple was killed by unidentified miscreants while two girls were sexually assaulted.
Choudhary said the party would see the stance of the ruling party on the issue of three MLAs of the Congress who were suspended for six months in March.
Three Congress MLAs, including former Speaker Kuldeep Sharma, were suspended from the Haryana Assembly during the budget session in March this year for six months for "tearing" copies of the Governor's address.
The Congress legislators have been accused of breaking the House decorum and traditions by showing disrespect to Governor.
"If they want GST bill to be passed unanimously, we will first see what their stance on this issue is," she said.
INLD also said that it will raise the crop insurance and other issues in the state assembly.
"We will raise the issues pertaining to Fasal Bima Yojna, deteriorating law and order situation, doctors shortage in hospitals, power shortage and other issues," INLD's State unit chief Ashok Arora said.
Meanwhile, Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma today said that Muni Tarun Sagar Maharaj will deliver 'Kadve Pravachan' at the Vidhan Sabha Complex on the first day of monsoon session tomorrow.
"This was unanimously decided in an all party meeting held recently in Haryana Niwas," Sharma said.
"The Kadve Pravachan programme will be held at Vidhan Sabha complex at 3 pm in which Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, all Ministers, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries and other MLAs will participate," Sharma said.
