Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) senior leader and MLA from Ellenabad, Abhey Singh Chautala said, "people of Haryana were expecting a lot from the budget but the Haryana Finance Minister H S Chattha has disappointed them as he has failed to provide relief to any section of society."
The INLD MLA said that proposed budget of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda led government is also reflecting "bankruptcy" of the state as government is resorting to debts to pay salaries.
INLD's state president Ashoka Arora said the finance minister has failed to take any step to check the rising inflation to ensure a relief to the common man.
Haryana state committee of CPI(M) has also described the Haryana budget as devoid of long term vision.
In a press release issued here, state secretary Inderjit Singh said the budget has not even referred to the most basic problems of the people let aside tackling them.
He criticised the budget for not initiating full crop insurance for peasants and ignoring social security needs of the agricultural workers.
Meanwhile, industry body CII today welcomed Haryana government's emphasis on public health, industrial development and employment in the state budget.
"The emphasis in Haryana's budget 2013- 14 towards Higher Education, Sports, Tourism, Infrastructure and Public Healthcare, considered as the pillars of every economy, will act as catalyst in harnessing the overall pace of growth of industry and economy of Haryana", said Malvinder M Singh, Chairman, CII NR.
