Each village of Haryana will soon have its own secretariat which will ensure people get better access to various government schemes, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said as he inaugurated the state's first 'village secretariat' in Jind's Haibatpur village.
He said the inauguration of the village secretariat in Haibatpur is the first step in this direction.
Khattar said all facilities would be made available for the people at village secretariat so that they don't have to visit district headquarters to settle their issues and take benefits of government schemes.
"The village secretariat has been built on 8,500 square feet area at the cost of Rs 48 lakh. It has 17 rooms with all modern amenities," Khattar said.
The village secretariat has 'Yogshala', 'Vyayamshala', offices of sarpanch, patwari and village secretary, Kisan Sewa Kendra, post office, health centre, telephone exchange, aanganwadi centre, bank branch, ATM, election office, intelligence department office and a police help centre.
A 'Common Service Centre' has been set up in the secretariat where facilities of issuance of all kind of government certificates like domicile, caste certificate etc will be available.
Later, addressing a public meeting in Uchana town here, Khattar said that BJP government of Haryana would eradicate corruption at all levels in the state.
"The state government will not tolerate corruption and would strictly deal with corrupt leaders, officers and employees," he said.
In the matter of development there would be no discrimination with any area or region of the state, he added.
Also speaking at the public meeting, Union Rural Development Minister Birender Singh alleged that several areas in Haryana, particularly Bangar area, were ignored in terms of development during previous government's rule in the state.
About Land Acquisition Bill, he claimed that the interests of the farmers were safe.
