After inaugurating a 66 KV substation at village Baliar in Rewari district of the state, he said that to cater increasing demand of power and to give qualitative power supply at proper voltage, the government has proposed a plan of Rs 4,400 crore under which the Haryana Power Utilities would construct one substation of 400 KV level, 29 of 220 KV level, 12 of 132 KV level, 19 of 66 KV level and 190 substations of 33 KV level.
He said the power utilities (Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam) constructed 53 new substations, augmented capacity of 177 existing substations and erected 450 kilometre long transmission lines at a cost of Rs 654.12 crore during the last financial year.
This has led to a considerable improvement in quality of power supply, he added.
Referring to availability of power, Yadav said that total installed power generation has increased to 10,277 megawatt (from all sources).
The generation capacity within the state has increased three-fold from 1,587 MW to 5,300 MW during the period of the present government, he added.
During this period, a 600 MW thermal plant was constructed at Yamunanagar, a 1200 MW thermal plant was set up in Hisar and a 1,320 MW and a 1,500 MW thermal plants were commissioned in Jhajjar, he said.
