Haryana govt to reduce rate of VAT on scientific instruments

The Haryana government today announced to reduce the rate of Value Added Tax (VAT) on scientific instruments from 12.5 per cent to 5 per cent.
Stating this here today, Excise and Taxation Minister Kiran Choudhry said it was a long pending demand of scientific instrument industry functioning in the state.
With the decision, the state government has provided them a major relief by reducing the VAT levied on such instruments to five per cent, she added.
