Hooda said this during the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Enforcement of Consumer Protection Act 1986, organised by Haryana Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission at Panchkula near here today.

Addressing the gathering, Hooda said that State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and 21 District Consumer Fora had been established in Haryana for protection of consumers' interest.

"For guidance of consumers and redressal of their grievances, State Consumer Assistance Centre too is being set up by state Directorate of Food and Supplies," he said.

To further strengthen the fora, Hooda announced to provide laptops and computer to the State Commission.

Apart from this the Chief Minister also announced to give incentive of Rs 7000 to class II employees, Rs 5000 to class III and Rs 3000 to class IV employees of the State Commission for their excellent work.

Haryana State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission President Justice R S Madan said that the number of pending cases were only 116.

"Haryana is the only State to have a high disposal rate," he added.

Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice A K Sikri, who was chief guest on the occasion, said people's faith in the consumer courts has been increasing owing to the fast and cheaper relief.

He also praised Haryana State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission's high disposal rate of consumer cases.
