Haryana plans online system to store data about patients

To provide better health care to the people, the Haryana government will soon introduce an online system to store data about patients like ailments, medicine prescribed and test reports which will be accessible in every hospital of the state.
A software is being developed by the Health Department for the purpose, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said at a function of Haryana Civil Medical Services Association at Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak today.
With the implementation of this system, online data would be prepared of all patients visiting government hospitals which would be accessible in every hospital of the state.
Addressing doctors, Vij said the state government wants to provide better health facilities to people at affordable prices. And the online system would help in preparing data of patients which would be accessible in all state hospitals.
The data would include details of patients including disease, medicine prescribed to him or her and test reports.
The Health Minister said the government also has a plan to provide facility of all tests in labs at all hospitals in the district so that people would not have to visit market for their tests. The government is of the view that at least one dialysis machine should be installed in every district.
Also, directions have been issued to the Department to identify thalassemia patients and ensure 24x7 availability of blood for them in all blood banks.
Vij said that soon File Monitoring and Tracking System would be implemented in the department. This system would be used up to the civil surgeon level. Strict directions have been issued to all officers and employees of the department to deal every file within one week, he said.
