E Venkatesan, working as a cook in CRPF since 1991, had applied for VRS on February 14, 2013 and his request was accepted on April 1, 2013 and relieved from his duties thereafter.
However, he made a representation on August 10, 2013 for withdrawal of voluntary retirement plea.
He further submitted that the Commandant of CRPF Jammu and Kashmir, under whom he last worked, made the recommendation to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, CRPF, Srinagar, to consider favourably his application for withdrawal of voluntary retirement notice by relaxing relevant rule.
When the petition came up for hearing, Justice D Hariparanthaman directed the CRPF D-G to pass appropriate orders on the recommendation of the Commandant within 12 weeks.
