IT firm HCL Infosystems on Thursday said its Group Chief Financial Officer S G Murali has resigned from the company.

The company said Deputy CFO Kapil Kapur has been given the charge of CFO post to ensure smooth transition of duties.

"S G Murali, Group Chief Financial Officer has informed the company about his decision to relinquish the said position effective September 15, 2017 to pursue new career opportunities," HCL Infosystems said in a BSE filing.

The Audit Committee of the company has accepted Murali's resignation, which was also endorsed by the Board of Directors, it added.

Murali was associated with HCL Infosystems since April 1, 2015.

"The company has identified Kapil Kapur, Deputy CFO to lead the function and ensure a seamless transition of duties," it said adding that he is working with the company since April 1993.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs 49.50 apiece, down 1.3 per cent from previous close on the BSE.
