Titlagarh sizzled at 42.5 degree Celsius while the mercury shot up to 42.3 degree Celsius at Angul and 42 degree in the coal belt of Talcher, the MeT department said here.
The mercury also rose in Bhubaneswar where the maximum temperature was recorded at 40.4 degree Celsius as against 39.7 degree recorded yesterday, it said.
Similarly, the maximum temperature soared up to 41.5 degree Celsius at Balangir, followed by 41.3 degree at Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Hirakud, the MeT office said, adding, the mercury stood at 41.2 degree Celsius at Bhawanipatna and Malkangiri.
