The government has taken a helicopter from Pawan Hans Helicopter service on a five-year lease.
The 26-seater helicopter would start to and from flights to tribal areas.
Under the conditions of lease, a minimum 40 hours flying would be mandatory and per hour charges would be Rs 3.27 lakh. The left out hours could be carried forward to next month and a total 480 hours flying would have to be done during the year.
The helicopter will undertake the maidan flight to Dodra Kwar in Shimla district on January 8 and other snowbound areas would be covered as per the flight scheduled prepared by General Administration Department (GAD).
