The 67-year-old MP from Mathura was manoeuvred through the crowd by her security aides, when the BJP leader noticed two young boys caught in the frenzy.
She immediately stepped in and rescued the children, her close aide Mitul Pathak said.
Had she not helped them, the boys could have been hurt, he said.
The MP and the boys were unhurt, he added.
The Mathura MP was addressing a gathering of around 2,000 people in the Ral village under the Govardhan Assembly seat.
She said she has spoken to the Centre and the state government in this regard.
The leader also assured the people displaced by the land acquired for Gokul Barrage construction in the area that she would ensure that they get the due compensation soon.
She also reiterated her resolve to work on providing better power, water, road, employment, education and health facilities to the people of Mathura.
