Two-wheeler market leader Hero MotoCorp today announced the appointment of Ashok Bhasin as the new head of sales, marketing and customer care for its Indian operations.
Bhasin, who was head of FMCG major Reckitt Benckiser's Central Africa operations, will report directly to company Vice-Chairman, Managing Director and CEO Pawan Munjal and will be a part of the leadership team, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.
Commenting on the appointment, Munjal said: "As part of leadership team at Hero MotoCorp, Ashok will also contribute on broad strategic directions of the company."
He said that while the company built a strong leadership team at home, it has also rapidly expanded global footprint in Asia, Africa, South and Central America.
All the vertical heads in national sales, marketing and customer care function will report into Bhasin.
He fills in the position left vacant after Anil Dua, Senior Vice-President (Sales and Marketing), left the company last year.
Prior to Reckitt Benckiser, Bhasin has worked with Whirlpool in several leadership roles starting as Director - Marketing (India), leading on to Vice President - Marketing (South Asia), and thereafter as Global Director, Whirlpool Corp, USA.
Bhasin's appointment follows a series of new additions to the leadership team at Hero.
The company had recently brought in Markus Braunsperger as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) from BMW, Germany and Markus Feichtner from Austria's AVL to head its newly-created division of New Engines Design and Development within the R&D function.
Hero MotoCorp had also roped in Rajat Bhargava from McKinsey & Co, to head its corporate strategy and performance transformation function, and hired Sanjay Jorapur from Honeywell, as the Chief Human Resources Officer.
