Rabina, daughter of Yusuf Ali Kureshi, was a resident of Adda village under Mundal Police station of the district. She was having an affair with her neighbour Ajju, police said.
Yusuf and the entire family was against their relationship. On Wednesday Yusuf strangulated her to death in her sleep, police said.
The victim's body was recovered yesterday from a drain in Bhojpur area of the neighbouring Ghaziabad district, police said.
Mundali police official Wasim Khan said Yusuf and his family is at large following the incident and attempts are being made to arrest them.
