Hooda hits out at detractors within party

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today hit back at his detractors within the Congress.
Asked about Congress leader Birender Singh's comment that he will not contest the October Assembly polls under the Chief Minister's leadership, Hooda told reporters at Kalanwali in Sirsa district that the leaders should not forget that they became members of the Rajya Sabha during his tenure.
Taking a dig at his detractors including former Union Minister Selja, the former Ambala MP who opted for Rajya Sabha berth instead of contesting in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Hooda said these leaders should not forget that it was under his leadership that they had filed the nomination for the Rajya Sabha and entered the Upper House.

When his attention was drawn towards growing factionalism within the party state unit, Hooda said in a democratic setup there could be differences of opinion but there was no factionalism.
When asked to comment on some Congress leaders openly airing their grievances in public, Haryana Congress president Ashok Tanwar said the party was dealing with the issue and the high command had directed that such issues should be shared at the party forum and not in public.
To another question, Tanwar said that the process of receiving applications for allotment of tickets for the upcoming assembly elections has commenced today. He said the last date to submit application for a party ticket is July 20.

The state unit chief said party tickets would be distributed keeping in view the eligibility of candidates and their winnability factor.
