Shares of housing finance and NBFC companies continued to remain weak Tuesday, falling as much as 23.5 per cent, led by DHFL, on fears of liquidity crisis.
Shares of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation cracked 23.49 per cent, Can Fin Homes tanked 6.51 per cent, Indiabulls Housing Finance 4.93 per cent, GIC Housing Finance 4.50 per cent, Gruh Finance 3.37 per cent, PNB Housing Finance 2.33 per cent and Muthoot Finance 0.90 per cent on BSE.
These stocks fell in the previous trading session also.
Analysts said Friday, shares of housing finance companies nosedived on rumours of liquidity crunch, while the scrip of DHFL plunged over 40 per cent.
The scrip of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Friday went into a tailspin, nosediving 42.43 per cent to end at Rs 351.55 on the BSE. Intra-day, it cracked 59.67 per cent to Rs 246.25 -- its 52-week low.
Shares of DHFL had bounced back sharply Monday and ended nearly 12 per cent higher after a massive selling spree on fears of a liquidity crisis Friday.
The 30-share BSE Sensex Friday suddenly tanked 1,127.58 points, or 3.03 per cent, to hit a low of 35,993.64 in afternoon trade before staging an equally sharp recovery within minutes.
