Hewlett-Packard India Sales, Country Manager (Design business), Mahesh Kumar Soni said this was the first time the company was offering contract model for printers targeted at various industry houses, including Public Sector Undertakings, coffee shops and design firms.
"This is for the first time we are offering this service. We have got very good response. What we are offering is Rs 29 per millilitre (per contract) for a device so that the users can focus on their work", Soni said.
He said the HP Designjet T3500 emultifunction printer and the T7200 production printer are used in large format printing areas and the company was offering them under "contract" model.
Giving details, he said users buying the product (a multifunction printer) from HP would be offered a contract by the company for five years.
According to research firm IDC (International Data Corporation), HP holds highest market share in the designjet industry at 65 per cent, he said.
