The ailing Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd board met today to discuss capital infusion in the company and ways to keep away from BIFR, sources said.
TCG group chief Purnendu Chatterjee told reporters that there was no need to worry about Haldia Petrochemicals as problems were being solved.
Sources said earlier that the state government had indicated it would not oppose Purnendu Chatterjee as chairman of the company - a post which is lying vacant for sometime.
However, there was no official communication in this regard by the promoters.
The meeting was chaired by additional secretary of industry department C M Bachhawat as the HPL board does not have a chairman at present, sources said.
