I have learnt to handle pressure well: Advani

Ace Indian cueist Pankaj Advani today attributed his stunning performances in the recent past to his ability to handle big-stage pressure.
"I have learnt to handle pressure of playing on show tables. I now perceive the big stage as my own, unlike in the past when I used to feel nervous and edgy while playing the big matches," Advani told reporters on the sidelines of a felicitation function after returning from England.
Advani won the World Billiards Championship earlier this month and he hoped "to continue with the winning momentum" going into the IBSF World Snooker Championship to be held in the city from November 16 to November 29.

Asked whether he was eyeing for fifth title on November 29, Advani said he was more focused on evolving as a player than being bothered about results.
"While winning and losing are part of the sport, I am not really thinking of the results, but want to evolve into a better player which for me is most fulfilling," he said.
Advani said he had worked hard on his game and the year has been great and lucky as well.
The Billiards and Snooker Federation of India secretary S Balasubramaniam gave away Rs 3.5 lakh purse amount and the Karnataka State Billiards Association Rs 1.5 lakh.

The BSFI also felicitated Umadevi Nagaraj, the silver medallist at World women's billiards and Vidya Pillai, who won the bronze at the Australian Open snooker tournament.
