The Income Tax department carried out six surveys in Patiala, Samana, Moga and Malerkotla during the last six days against suspected tax evasion resulting in the detection of over Rs 4.5 crore of undisclosed income, officials said today.
In Patiala and Samana, four surveys were carried out in the case of doctors and medical homes.
Undisclosed income amounting to Rs 3 crore was admitted by the assessee's, the officials said here.
The surveys were conducted under the supervision of Biney Kumar Jha Chief commissioner Ludhiana.
The survey carried out at Malerkotla resulted in the detection of around Rs 1 crore of undisclosed income by the assessee, they said.
In the case of a manufacturer and supplier of school uniforms in Moga, large quantities of unaccounted stocks were found during the survey by the Moga range, resulting in disclosure of around Rs 50 lakhs undisclosed income, the officials said.
Documents and books of account found during the survey operations are being further verified to establish the full extent of evasion, a senior official of the department said.
