ICAR team visits Rajahmundry for setting up floriculture instt

A team of officials from Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) visited Rajahmundry in East Godavari to identify suitable location for setting up a floriculture institute.
The institute is likely to start functioning from Central Tobacco Research Institute (CTRI) here and farm operations may follow once the required land is acquired for it, according to a press release issued by Rajahmundry MP M Murali Mohan last night.
"...On the instructions of Minister (Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh), a team of senior scientists headed by Krishna Kumar DDG Horticulture and ADG Janakiram from ICAR yesterday visited the premises of CTRI and its farm along with some other prime location on the outskirts of Rajahmundry," the release said.

Coimbatore: Opportunities in U.S.-India agricultural partnership, potential of technology and an entrepreneurial approach to the farming sector will be the highlight of the address of Richard Verma, U.S. Ambassador to India, at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University here tomorrow.
"Verma's remarks at one of India's premier agricultural institutions will highlight the opportunities of the United-States-India agricultural partnership and the potential of technology and an entrepreneurial approach to the farming sector," an official release said today.
