IED defused in J-K

An IED was planted by militants near a passengers shed at Hanjipora crossing near the highway town of Qazigund, 80 kms from here, and was detected by a joint party of police, Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF, a police spokesman said.

He said the area was immediately cordoned off and the IED was later defused by the bomb disposal squad, foiling ultras bid to set off an explosion.

A hunt has been launched to nab the militants who had planted the IED on the highway, the spokesman added.
