The tie-up would cover joint events and activities, dissemination of knowledge, and efforts to improve the state of engineering education in India, a statement said.
"We believe this agreement will promote co-operation and understanding between the two organisations and will go a long way in furthering technology awareness among the general public and students of engineering," IET India Director and Country Head Shekhar Sanyal said.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) will make it easier for the two firms to work together to plan technical lectures and talks as well as to jointly develop programmes, activities and materials aimed at enhancing the quality of engineering education in India, he said.
"This collaboration and co-creation is the only way forward and will add significant value in our pursuit of making Indian electrical and allied industry a knowledge capital of the world.
