IESA is assisting Maharashtra government for setting up a brownfield EMC in Pune, which will provide common facilities for production and R&D support services to benefit local firms.
As per the guidelines of the EMC Scheme, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) with a public limited company will be set up to implement the project.
MICCA along with private companies, industry associations, financial institutions, R&D institutions, state or local governments or their agencies and units within the EMC will lend its support for promoting the SPV.
The proposed brownfield EMC cluster in Pune, will bring immense opportunities to the electronics industry, academia and other stakeholders, IESA said in a statement.
"The state government has identified ESDM as a sector of focus. As one of the salient initiatives in this direction, the state has decided to set up three Brownfield EMCs at Pune, Aurangabad and Navi Mumbai," P Anabalgan, IAS, Joint CEO, MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation) said.
Besides funding support available from Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), the state will also extend its proactive support to enable these clusters to be set up at the earliest, he added.
