Thackeray passed this instruction to BMC senior officers, including civic chief Ajoy Mehta, who attended a review meeting chaired by Mayor Snehal Ambekar at her official residence yesterday.
Sena has been ruling BMC for over last 20 years in alliance with BJP.
A statement issued by the civic body today said that Ambekar and Uddhav reviewed a host of schemes and initiatives launched by the BMC and Uddhav asked the BMC officials to execute the healthcare initiatives launched by the civic body most effectively so that its benefits can be reached to the commoners.
In its investigation later on, civic body confirmed that there were 69 cases of dengue and 45 of leptospirosis.
"Uddhav also asked the officers to make their efforts visible as well as to create awareness about the different initiatives launched by the civic body," said the statement.
"As it normally happens, there are the chances of upsurge in the monsoon-related diseases and it's upto us to be fully prepare to deal with all possible efforts, including educating people about it," Uddhav is quoted as saying.
