Improve mobile connectivity in hilly areas: U'khand to Centre

The Uttarakhand government today said that the Centre should focus on improving mobile connectivity in disaster-prone areas of the state.
In a letter written to Union Minister for IT and Communications Ravishankar Prasad, Chief Minister Harish Rawat said poor mobile connectivity in Kedar valley of Rudraprayag district and Dharchula area of Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand causes a lot of hardships to locals on a daily basis.
Underlining the need to improve mobile connectivity in these areas considering their vulnerability to natural calamities, Rawat expressed hope that the Union Minister will take necessary steps on priority basis to address the issue.
