Security measures have been beefed up in Arunachal Pradesh in the run up to the Independence Day, police said on Tuesday.
More security personnel have been deployed in Itanagar while checking and frisking of vehicles intensified, Capital Superintendent of Police Tume Amo said.
Night patrolling are being conducted in all the vulnerable places to thwart any untoward incident.
Verification of the Inner Line Permits (ILP) has been increased in all check gates of the state, while hotels in the capital are being checked as a preventive measure, Amo said.
The ILP is an official document required by outsiders to travel in Arunachal Pradesh.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu would unfurl the National tri-colour at the Indira Gandhi Park here, the main venue of the Independence Day celebration.
