The largest exhibitions on different themes will be held in 12 cities besides a variety of art and cultural shows, Secretary for Culture of India Ravindra Singh said here today.
The exhibitions on IT and Space will feature the rise of India's technological advancements in the two arenas, he said.
The expo on space technology will be of key interest here as the two nations, sometimes regarded as rivals, have made big advances in the last two decades with successful missions to the Moon.
China is key player in space technology with several manned missions to space and it is on the verge of setting up a space station of its own.
Singh said India will also hold exhibitions on Buddhism, which centuries ago aroused amazing curiosity in China. Also exhibitions on Indian cinema along with a film festival would be held.
Talks are on with the Chinese officials over the screening of more Indian Indian movies. Recent movies such as Three Idiots made a big splash in China.
Singh also said India would provide cultural scholarship to more Chinese students to study in renowned Indian arts institutions.
India also plans to hold a Yoga festival at Dali in Yunnan Province in July this year.
Over 2000 participants and top Yoga exponents including Geetha Iyengar, grand daughter of B K S Iyengar would attend the event.
